CEREC Same-Day Dental Crowns

One of the many options for restorative dentistry at Dental Designs of Maryland is our CEREC same-day dental crowns.

Here’s how the CEREC system works:

  1. First, the machine creates a 3D scan of the tooth.
  2. Next, it designs the crown.
  3. Then, the crown is milled in-office.
  4. Finally, our dental expert installs the crown.

This digital system means no more temporary crowns or molding putty in your mouth. In one session, a patient can come into our office with a broken tooth, and thanks to the CEREC system, they can walk out with a brand-new crown.

White Fillings and Porcelain Onlays

Another outdated treatment method is using metal fillings to replace missing or damaged teeth. Instead of using metal fillings that can weaken and crack teeth over time, our Dental Designs of Maryland team uses white resin fillings.

Some benefits of using resin fillings include:

  • Can be matched to your existing teeth color
  • Require much less removal of tooth structure
  • Are chemically bonded to the tooth for a comfortable and secure fit
  • Blend in so no one knows you have them

In some cases, CEREC porcelain onlays might be the best way to fit the natural anatomy of the tooth. These onlays are made on-site and precisely match the shape of your teeth, so we can use this digital tool when cavities are larger. Because of the exact fit, you will experience less head, neck, and jaw pain as the teeth work together more efficiently.

Aesthetic Zirconia and Porcelain Crowns

Instead of metal crowns that are outdated and potentially painful, our Dental Designs of Maryland team prefers to use a combination of strong zirconia and premium full-porcelain dental crowns whenever possible. Aesthetic zirconia and porcelain crowns provide stronger structure along with the beauty of natural teeth. If you’re unsure if this service is right for your smile, don’t worry. Our dental experts work with each of our patients to determine which of our restorative dental services is best for your oral health.
